When undertaking a basement renovation, the last thing you want to start off with is water issues. I currently have dual 1/3 HP sumps in an 18" pit. During the spring they run quite frequently and during the heaviest flow over the past 6 years, 1 was not able to keep up with the flow. I do have 2 1/2 hp Hydromatic pumps ready to go in but the pit is too small. I would like an estimate on either installing a second pit or enlarging the current one to A) allow the installation of both 1/2 hp pumps and B) increase the rest period for the pumps.
